This makes sense using the cognitivist theory as well...
When a schema is connected to many other schemas, the easier it is for a person to recall the schema.
This is especially true if the schema that it is connected to has got a strong influence on the person; exp: emotionally.
Emotion is indeed a strong force for something which is unseen ...
